1) I second the vote for the Hella DomeLight with delayed shut-off installation in both the front and rear of the vanagon. Price per light fixture was $5. Total = $10.

2) I have liberated a Ford Taurus of it's rear bumper black plastic protective bit and cut it into two pieces for application on the top of my Mutlivan rear bumper. Protects the paint finish from scratches when I'm loading kayaks, surfboards, etc. on top of the van. Price was free.

3) Use of McGuires Tire Dressing on poptop to restore finish. Not sure how much it cost but it works great and lasts a long time.

4) Modification of under the front seat pedestal to allow access from front. I've used my space for map storage, mp3 harddrive placement, etc. Price was free.

5) Replacement of stock poptop skylight with a smoked glass sunroof. New sunroof opens to front, rear, or straight up. Allows excellent ventilation and star-gazing while abed in top bunk. Price = $65

thanks, Brent
