I was driving along and smelled this strange hot smell. Almost like the hot electronic smell, almost like hot truck brakes, almost like burnt toast. I was driving on the interstate in the mountains, so thought it might be an outside smell. Time goes by, and I'm still smelling it. I stick my nose down by the dash air vent so I'm just smelling outside air. No smell. I open the vent window, so that is sucking air past me and out oft he van. The smell gets worse. I pull off at the next exit and immediately go to the cabinet under the sink where the inverter is running the fridge. Nothing hot down there. I start feeling around behind the fridge cabinet where the heat from the fridge vents out. HOT!!!!

I woke up that morning and made a quick cup of tea before hitting the road. When I turned off the stove, I turned it the wrong way, so it went to that really low flame, instead of off. Closed the top on the stove and sink and drove off. Minor discoloration and warping of the dish drain, and a dark spot on the underside of the top. I will make sure I turn that knob the right way from now on, and I hope you will too.

Edward
