Clearly, this is buyers remorse.I had it and wish I had listened. What is you wife's opinion? Better type "wife" into the archives and get the opinions of vanagons that will make the most sence for you.If you are still undecided,check the front suspension. If you have cast iorn lower control arms, and/or plastic coolant tubes,it may be worth saving. If so, and the van is for parts, those pipes are valuable,as they only fit pre 86 water cooled vanagons, and were only made for 1/2 of a model year.As for the oil leaking, so what?This is probably pushrod tubes.Get an antifreeze tester and see what the concentration of antifreeze is.Much less than 50/50 and you may have head gasket leaks. |
