Water will settle to the lowest point of the tank. I would try to siphon as much as possible. Do not use the fuel pump as it would take too long and be unneeded wear. If there is a drain (?) try to put it at the lowest point. After that add a couple of bottles of "heet" or similar fuel additive along with 3 or 4 gallons of fresh fuel.

Hello all. I have a tank of bad gas because of a failed gasket on the vent line that goes into the fuel filler neck. It was raining for the first time in a while and suddenly I started having issues while driving. I found that the rubber sleeve (that makes it fit tightly) that goes over the nipple is gone and was letting in a lot of water. So what would be the best way to drain the water out of the tank? I'm not sure if the water will separate and then can be pulled out, or if it will remain blended into the gas as it was 2 days ago. I guess I'm asking if I need to get rid of all of the gas or if I can just get rid of the bottom gallon or 2. Should I use the fuel pump to pump it out or should I just let it gravity drain? Thanks!
