I think you're probably right on the money there. PO couldn't get into reverse and in desperation tried adding a bunch more ATF. As for the final drive unit, he probably didn't even know it had its own lubrication system. As for the issue with no reverse, it sounds like it's probably rebuild time. Either the reverse clutches aren't grabbing or the valve seals that operate them are leaking and not holding enough pressure. Nothing to lose by changing the ATF and filter, though. Might just be a little sticky something in there. |
