Has anyone come up with for good DIY functional and inexpensive awning. I have been looking for a used awning in the Denver area and have given up and starting thinking of making my own. So with awnings on my brain, I saw a truck go by with what looked like an awning on the side. Then I realized it was 3" grey plastic conduit. That got me thinking could you make a permanent awning with that tube, a tarp or awning material, a pole to roll it up on and a couple of end caps to hold the roll in the center of the tube. Has anyone come up with something like this, or something better? I have been using a tarp, a couple bungies and a couple extendable tent poles but it isn't quite good enough. |
