made few sliding door panels using "hardboard from Home Depot" then transfered original vinyl cover on.Hard not to tear vinyl. hard to glue too.Original panels were close to 1/8". If you will use plywood get baltic birch in 1/8" thickness, toughest and easy to cut.Can be stained in many colors and finished. Will outlast Vanagon Leon
