Subject: update - water pump working again!

Hi all,

Thanks for all the clear and well-written technical emails you sent, explaining how to check if the pump is working, how to check the faucet switch, where the fuses are. I read my Bentley, and read all the emails, and read a lot of my book on automotive electrical systems (which includes some good basic stuff on reading electrical diagrams, how circuits work, etc.). Then I went out to the van to see what I could do.

So, I started with the complex technical advice of Marcia Holm in Oregon, who suggested that I "gently move the "pump action" thingy." Figured I'd start there...

Bingo! My pump is working fine.

I suppose it was a bit clogged. I ran a lot of water through the faucet, and I will keep doing that over the next day or two, in case it's actually something worse. I don't need it to clog again at Burning Man. But it seems to be okay!

Thanks everyone for your advice. I hope I won't turn out to need it, but if things mess up again I will follow more of your directions.

Joy
