Was talking with the Chrysler channel parts guys yesterday about that same subject. So far everything cooked up on a mercedes bed is being done in the US wearing standard Chrysler shoes with the exception of the sprinter family. The current daimler/chrysler plans are that anything on a daimler bed will be built in the US and not exported to the US. Below is an interesting link from my bookmarks and below that is a clip from that site..

///quoted text--- Tires are another issue. As you know, in the 16" diameter rage, there are very few tires with load ratings over 2200lbs. ...... The 130mm x 5 bolt hole pattern is only found on Porsche cars and the Mercedes G-Wagen.  Unfortunately none of the hundreds of really cool Porsche wheels meet the 70mm offset needed, and only a few met the load requirement.

Even though the subject is a sprinter conversion I recommend the reading on the site.
