I've had several VWs with Recaros, and they are great, but I'm not sure I'd want them in my Vanagon. I don't think the seating position in a Vanagon seems compatible with a Recaro style seat (I could be wrong though!). I find my '88 Westy seats pretty good, and love the adjustable arm rests. For very long drives (>8 hrs), my Jetta is more comfortable, but the Vanagon is better suited to a slower pace with frequent stops anyway... :-)
