Seems like I have seen a number of them, not sure about the year. But,,,, so what.? It really doesn't make it worth that much more money then a non Wolfsburg. Don't let thet effect you on your decision on the car. 8v engines are dependable, diesels are good, a turbo diesel is great, eco diesels have less hp and a 16v gli is a little pocket rocket. I am not sure what was actucaly available that year, but that is the basics. Like all VW's and any old car, rust can be a problem
