Subject: Towing a Vanagon
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi Gang...

I know we've talked about this before, but I have one coming up with a twist...

I bought a weekender (if the guy ever gets the PA ownership into his name with the guberment)...it's an automatic with the engine out...I plan to dolley it home behind my stationwagon...

We've tried loading another vehicle we brought back from the dead a couple years ago with back wheels on the dolley, and locking the steering...that was almost a disaster...we learned our lesson.

So it's front wheels on, and drag the back ones...question is, once the torque convertor is removed from the bellhousing, the ATF is open to atmosphere...will towing it in neutral damage anything...trip is about 400 miles...

Anyone have first hand knowledge on this issue?

Thanks, Den.
