Subject:      Headlight Relay - Do I Really Need A New Feed?

Am upgrading the headlight wiring to add the popular relays.  I have read about 6 sets of instructions that I found online. Half of them say to feed the 12 volt power from the fusebox, the other half say to run a new power wire from the battery post.
Does anyone have more than a guess on whether it's really necessary to run a new power feed from the battery for this purpose?
