Using a torch to change the spring height is a very bad idea for several
reasons. The best route to go is new/used springs designed for a Vanagon.

I am currently using H&R spirngs all the way around. I don't have any major
complaints. I bought them used from another list member. It didn't cost an
unreasonable amount.

If you are going to do something, do it right.
