I am curious about this I4 conversion. How long have you had it installed, and has it ever cooled correctly at idle for extended periods of time?

I haven't done the research, but with this conversion, aren't you messing with the engine's ability to be cooled down by switching out which vehicle the motor was intended on being installed in without taking all the same engineered parts over to the new vehicle..

I know it isn't rocket science, but then again, I understand that certain setups were designed to cool in a specific way, maintain a certain pressure, have T-stat open and close at certain intervals...blah blah blah...

I thought that on the air cools, specifically (although certainly not same comparison) the air shroud is a very important part of the cooling system as its intended to direct airflow in a certain way according to the design of the engine...Could the I4 have been designed to not be in a rearward "cavern" of sorts and able to shed less heat than if it were under the hood in front of a vehicle? Is that enough venilation??

I know on my P30 chassis motorhome, they have had all sorts of trouble cooling down engines based on the fact that they don't have enough airflow guided to the right place...it shoots all over the motor, but doesn't get directed correctly to the radiator, etc...

Just some thoughts....maybe some sort of air dams, or additional fans in the rearward vents to SUCK cool air into the engine compartment...Or maybe the radiator needs more frontal space? I dunno...
