Subject: Shifter linkage on a 1.9 to 1.8 conversion.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Hi, I am in the middle of converting my '84 Vanagon to a 1.8 8 valve VW motor with the diesel mounting bits. The Vanagon trans was converted also using the diesel bellhousing. When I put the shift linkage in it appears its too long. Is the fix simply shortening the shift rod coming from the front where it connects to the u-joint?

Thanks,
