Does anyone know where the actual archives for the mail list are kept Are they in a database rather than html files on disk ? It looks like wa.exe knows how to retreive the archives but I have never seen this archive tool anyone know anything about it ?

Normally I can use a url like this http://www.google.ca/custom?sitesearch=gerry.vanagon.com to search but that never searches any of the mail archives

the http://gerry.vanagon.com/cgi-bin/wa.exe?S1=vanagon is quite SLOW & not all that accurate ...
