I seem to remember that a very dry rblt 4 spd takes 4.5 Qts. A 5 spd can't take much more than that. Fill it to the bottom of the fill hole and you are good to go...A bit less is still OK though. The cores I take apart don't seem to suffer from lack of oil so much as never changing it...ever, it looks like.
