Hi All Last night on BBC1 (England) there was a long programme which featured a 1986 Vanagon. The story was that the guy who owned it was spending too much money on petrol (gas) and wanted an alternative (in England we now pay nearly $2 per litre). He took the decision to start using recycled vegetable oil as fuel, the vehicle continued to run quite happily, it passed emissions tests, it notched up good cruising speeds etc and what is more he got all his fuel free from good old fish and chip shops who use vast quantities of the stuff to cook with and are always looking for sources who will take it away. Just wondered if you guys have ever come across this in the US and if so what you have learnt from it? Additionally, it reduced the carbon emission of the vehicle considerably.
