There has been a Green Bus documentary on educational TV several times in
the past few years.
It seems that there is almost always another Green Bus in the works or en
route.
It's easy to see that all the contenders prefer old VW vusses because VW
already has a Diesel that will plug in.
I believe I recently say news coverage of some college boys making another
run towards the West Coast in a fry kettle van.

Three points.....
Taped a TV program about a year ago, "Ripley's Believe It Or Not",
following two college students in their trip from New England to
California driving a 'greasol' powered Vanagon.  Lot of tape of them
scrounging fry oil behind burger joints.
In the Seattle area there are, at last count, two locations with bio
diesel pumps and one bio diesel refinery in the area.
When this same thread got going about a year ago several people point
to websites that were talking about how in the UK the government
stepped in and insisted on collecting a fuel tax from the fish 'n chip
joints if they passed the used oil on to be used in a motor vehicle!!
