Often, opening the bolts on the pulley is one of the difficulties. I use an old belt that I let wind between the pulleys and get jammed by itself on the pulley I work on. It works both for opening and tightening. Other than that, I use "Right Stuff" on all the gaskets very thinly. It is rubber in calk form that will be harder in time but remains like rubber.
