I recently had a similar problem on my Syncro. The temp gauge would hover 1-2 needle-widths above the LED. Replacing the Temp2 sensor had little effect. To make a long story short, I solved it by replacing the two large ground points behind the fuse box under the dash. I also ended up replacing several of the corroded spade connectors, which were so brittle from corrosion that they broke apart. It's a PITA to do, but I will never overlook this on another van. My Syncro temp gauge now sits right on the LED in the 115F desert heat.

By hot I mean that the temp. needle is just above the led. When I go up hills I have to put the front heater on to keep the needle around the led. > > How can I tell if it is the thermostat, waterpump, air in the system or even a faulty temp sensor or gauge? > Is it OK to run at this temperature?
