Some models with auto trannys have an extra wire with space connector at the starter. It attaches on the starter very near the same connection as the the other one. The larger red/black is the main start voltage from the key switch and neutral safety interlock. The smaller red/black sends that signal back up front for use by a couple of non-essential circuits, namely the factory aux battery relay and the brake warning light.
