well All,
I'm going to bring a pump and coolent, tools, beer, food, snacks. T.V we love our van
and last night i was working on the budda bus while having a couple pops ;) lets say. don't
remember much except that i want to get to a nice quite place this weekend.. short trip..
update on the noise no leaky,no sweaky. sounds as if it might be my cam, its on the drivers
rear side sounding as if near the top, above the valve/ground /distro area. bus moves well
and i drive is real low key.
when i do take the belt off and spin it, if feels good and does'nt sound bad, re-adjusted the belt
it was never too tight BTW.
Joe

Joe,
At the very least, you should bring lots of coolant, a set of spare
belts and a new water pump with you. When the pump goes out in east
nowhere, it's going to be a bad thing that nobody has a replacement...
I would change it before you go, that way you can pick your time and
place for the battle, instead of 2:45 in the morning - by the side of
the road - in the rain...
My '88 is running hot, which is probably the radiator. I can't afford
to fix it right now, so I only drive short distances (and use the
heater in the summer - Yuk!). The point is, I wouldn't set out on a
cross country trip right now unless I fixed it first.
