Paul, there are a few listees and non-listees that own and love thier westfalias in the NYC metropolitan area.

some find a friend or storage just out of the big city to care while parked, some gaurd them well within the city limits..

the NE US is a great place to own a vanagon westfalia (not as great as the PNW but..) between the adirondacs, white mts, maine coastal, and PA endless mtns.. theres tons of recreation that relives big city stresses..

Heck you could park it @ my place a nice barn in upstate NY.. but i'd require the keys *winks and being a rider on your insurance as a driver.. *just to stretch it's leggs. we have a lot of VW campouts specfic in the NE all w/in a few hours from NYC.

Though I think your van is great, and would certainly make a new owner very happy.. I hate to see a caring owner part with thier van for such reasons.

1987 Westfalia for sale. CLEAN, Automatic, Loaded, from California with Subaru engine.

This classic genuine VW Westfalia camper was sold new and has always been registered in California. It just arrived in the Northeast and is now for sale. It's a fantastic camper for a family (sleeps 4) that enjoys nature. The body is straight and clean and it has approx 171k original miles. The interior is in very good condition. A Subaru 2.2 engine was installed less than 10,000 miles ago. The engine runs excellent. My wife and I just drove it from San Francisco to Vancouver then all the way across Canada to Newfoundland with no headaches at all. (9000+ miles total). We are only selling it because we are moving to New York City and have no space for a vehicle. If we were living anywhere else other than Manhattan we would be keeping this wonderful campervan.
