I go an average of almost 2 weeks on a tank of propane using my Propex in pretty cold 

weather. 



Thats' like 6 or 7 times longer than what you are experiencing with yours.



Same parameter's .... fridge, cooking etc.



I wonder if its' because I have a 2002 unit vs your 1997 unit.



Perhaps the newer units are that much more efficient.



Unless perhaps you are camping in very, very extreme single digit  cold.



I've pretyt much been in temps in the low 20's and high teens.

I've had my propex heater since around 1997 and I

suggest that if you plan to do some stationary camping

and want this heater in your rig, to set it up so

that you can attach a second spare tank to it through

your main system. The times I've used it, it does

go through the propane after 2 to 3 days if your

cooking and running the fridge too. Oddly enough,

I've not camped long enough to need the extra tank

but I'm still glad that the tee'd in valve is there

"just-in-case".
