My rebuilt consistently holds oil at the 1/2 mark on the dipstick. If I add more... It will quickly return to the 1/2 mark after a short drive.. Tom

Even though the owners manual states, "The oil level is correct if it is between the "max" and "min" marks on the dipstick". Searching thru the archives I find several references to this. But I'm curious what the current collective think is on this? What say you?
