FS: Carpet for passenger compartment of Westy.
I needed to replace the carpet for the passenger compartment of my 1984
Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia. I went to down to a local carpet shop and
found a remnant of a good looking carpet to match my brown van with tan
interior. The carpet needed to be about 4 feet by 4 feet. The remnant
was four feet long, but was twelve feet wide. So instead of wasting the
extra 8 feet, I had the shop bind up 2 extra carpets for me. The end
result is that I have three very nice looking area rugs that fit perfectly
(well almost) in the passenger compartment of my van. I only need one, so
I am hoping to sell the other two at my cost plus shipping.

They are mostly brownish so they look great in a van with tan interior,
but they also include some grayish tones so they would probably look good
in a van with gray interior as well. They are 49.5 inches long and 46
inches wide. As you can see in the pictures, the guy cut them about half
an inch too long, so there is a very slight curl at one end when placed in
the van. At first I was annoyed at this, but the guy did them in a rush
for me and I got them the day before leaving on a week-long trip around
Michigan and I didn’t have time to have them fixed. On the trip I
immediately fell in love with the carpet and quickly stop noticing the
curl. You probably would too, but if you really wanted you could probably
trim one end and re-stitch the binding.
I’d like to get $45 for each one, plus actual shipping costs (the remnant
was relatively inexpensive, the binding wasn’t). Similar ones the vendors
are selling are going for $90-$100. This is your chance to get a great
deal! I’ll ship them via UPS Ground. I’m in the Midwest and it looks like
shipping to either coast will be about $10.
In the pictures you will notice that the color looks brown in the indoor
pictures and grey in the outdoor pictures. The actual color falls
somewhere in the middle.
