Subject:      gas saving strategies without touching a wrench

With all the talk of gas lately in these dark days I thought I'd throw
out a few tricks I've used.

- Get a Paypal account....tie it to your checking or savings account.
(If you're worried open a savings just for Paypal.)
Gets you whatever your bank rate is for that account until you put it in
the Paypal account.

- Sign up for their "Money Market" which currently earns 3.5%.
Gets you something for as long as your money is in there.

- Sign up for a Paypal debit card which has access to your Paypal
balance and gives you 1% cash back.  Gets you .03/gal at 3.00/gal.

- Shop at a warehouse store that sells gas at a discounted price...like
Sam’s Club (owned by Wal-Mart), or BJ’s Wholesale Club....some require
memberships but some markets like Safeway are also selling gas at a
discount I've heard.  This gets you a few more cents a gallon usually
since they may sell at cost or below to bring in customers.
You may end up saving $1 or more on a fillup.

(Recently Maryland passed legislation preventing these stores from
selling gas at below wholesale prices!  ...considering how much of a
margin over wholesale we've seen retailers raise prices in the past few
days I'm thinking any store chain should be allowed to sell at a loss if
it adds to their sales.  Some politicians are itching to get voted out
around here!)

- check your tire pressure, check your alignment, close the windows and
run the air if you have to or leave it off if you can stand it.

- for those that will use tools, check the usual...points, plug gap,
timing, filters.
