Subject: Quest.on Alternator Pulley? Help Please!
Comments: cc: dhaynes@OPTONLINE.NET

Hi folks, On pg. 27.15 of Bentley it shows a 90amp alternator setup but doesn't indicate the vehicle year. On the next pg. (27.16) it shows the same pulley setup but for a 45 and 65amp alt. Pg. 27.17 shows a *different pulley* on a 90amp alt. "starting October 1982" but with no end date indicated. Question is which pulley setup is for a 1987 Westy? I ordered one from dealer and got back the one pictured on 27.15 and 27.16. I am looking for a 90amp alt. that this pulley will fit on. [I have a kick put alt that is putting out 110 amps, but the pulley will not fit--I think the alt. is aftermarket and the wrong one]. I am looking for correct alt. from Bus Depot (help, Ron) but don't want to get the wrong one. Dennis, you mentioned that I needed the "two-piece" pulley once. Did you mean the one on 27.15 & 27.16 or the one on 27.17? Thanks for everyone's patience (whew! I was getting confused myself trying to get it all out ;-) but I am trying to once and for all fix a "belt eating problem" before I sale my van. James in Houston 87 Westy
