I will be the first to admit I am no expert on this issue.
It does seem strange that in France they have many nuke energy plants and we
gave up after on a couple here.
There must have been some perk in it for the military to run our ships on it
rather than oil.
When cost is no option its better? why?
You say its not cost effective, oil just nearly doubled in cost, does that
change the formula? how high will oil have to go to make it cost effective?
What about the national security issue? do you think its okay to base such a
large part of our energy needs outside of our control? not trying to get
flamed here but I see good things about having some independence. I also
grew up not far from SLO Diablo Canyon nuke power plant. Never saw a
problem with it.
More and more folks coming into the US for a living everybody wants a
personal SUV and cell phone, and the good life, which might be a boat or RV.
Geez, how's it all supposed to work, we better find a really really good
solution to energy or find a better way to use what we have or figure out a
way to not "want" to use it.
Just like the water, everybody thinks its not a problem to add more and more
folks who need it in places like the middle of Nevada. Somehow there will be
enough. Not the case..
