Subject: Steering rack leak....rebuild or trash? 85 GL
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Just like the subject line...

My 85 GL has a leaky (very) PS rack...I don't know exactly where but it was almost completely out of fluid after about 70 miles of driving after filling to just above the min line...

Are these things rebuildable, or would it be better to buy a good used one?

Additionally, could I swap the MANUAL steering rack out of my 85? Would it just bolt in and then I could ditch the PS pump?

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome...
