Subject: Dirty fuel lines?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

I've replaced the fuel tank ( and all the filters), in my '82 I4 CIS conversion but there is still a lot of dirt collecting quickly in a clear plastic filter I've installed right at the tank outlet. My conclusion is that there is dirt being flushed through the fuel lines and getting caught in the filter. Has anone had enough experience in this to suggest how long it'll take to flush all the crud out of those lines? Is there something I'm missing, another source of crud? ( I'm assuming the gas I'm putting in the tank is pretty clean!) Fuel lines are metal on the high pressure side of the pump, and braided steel covered from the fuel distributor to the injectors. Any info welcome on this one..... Bill M 82GL
