Unlikely that a motor shop will let you in the door with a starter. What you need to locate is another disappearing thing, an automotive electric shop. It'll probably be in the industrial ghetto with a faded Deka battery hanging over its door. Take along a bottle of medical oxygen, the guy running the place might need a huff or two.
