Watch out for the words "rebuilt" and "reman". Rebuilt just gets a quick cleaning and a lookee and then minor replacement parts and a quick test. Reman gets all moving parts replaced or inspected for specifications. Note the word "specifications". Rebuilt gets checked to just see if it works at test time. The other gets tested to see if it meets the orig specs. There is fudging on the terms by some not so nice rebuilders though.

Another brief we just got from a major rebuilder of other auto parts like brake cylinders and steering assemblies is. In the first few years many cores get rejected. In later years as the cores become rarer they are now on second and third rebuilds and they have to make use of almost any they can get.
