Right now the feds are subsidizing B99 to the tune of about a dollar/gallon. This means I can roll up to the local filling station and pump almost pure biodiesel for $2.94/gal, which is 15cents cheaper than dino diesel around here. I hope this WBX is the last gas huffing road vehicle I ever own. When the engine finally dies, it's getting R&R'd with either a TDI or 1.9TD (with some of my custom tweaks). There simply is no direct rival between the economy and performance of a modern turbodiesel and its lowly gasser counterparts. If modern gas engines are so efficient and superior, how come there aren't any over-the-road trucks running gasolene anymore? Isn't the Van just a smaller version of these box-on-wheels utility rigs?
