If you are as annoyed as I am by the change of the size of the oil bottle caps a little while back, Then you, like I, would like to spit in the eye of the genius that decided that all major oil company bottle mouths would be as large as the oil filler extension on the WBX engine. There is no way to put oil into the filler neck without an absolute mess because the neck of the bottle no longer fits INSIDE the filler neck of the engine, but is the same size. So, how to deal with this? First remove the filler cap. Next, pull the filler neck extension out to it's full length. Then stick your newly acquired piece of properly fitted PVC-pipe-extension-with-elbow-added into the filler neck, with the opening of the elbow turned up. Now pour your oil into the elbow. No more mess. Oil goes right down the filler neck. When done, store the PVC in a plastic ziplock bag under the back seat! Regards, John Rodgers 88 GL Driver |
