This is an issue sure to cause debate. I must tell you that I once set my lifters per the Bentley(lash +2 turns)and got no compression. The valves remained open even when "closed" and this collapsed 2 of the lifters for good.The lifters were gunked up before hand, but I believe this wont be healthy for even new lifters.The best I can figure out is that Bentley ment the settings to be lash +.2 turns.However I am certin this will not be agreed with.What I settled on , and what works fine for me is lash + 1/4 turn.I think this sets the lifters at the mid range of their travel.Good luck in this prosess, Roger
