Any listmembers driving on US 395 near Mammoth Mtn. last week? I saw a couple of Westfalias traveling together, and passed a Nevada-plated Syncro with canoe/kayak on top. Waved at the guys in the Syncro even though we were riding in my friends' 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser (Syncro was parked at Rock Creek Lake south of Mammoth). (They were checking out the Land Cruiser; for some reason this particular model of Land Cruiser is rather rare.)

Also saw a Burner on his way to the Burn at the Von's in Bishop. Also saw somebody living in a first-generation Transporter in the Von's vast parking lot. That parking lot is so big that probably only a VW nut like me even notices.

Donna, 87 Syncro & Wolfsburg
