Subject:      How to soak a radiator and in what?

I was thinking to soak my radiator and then flush the crud out.  I imagine, there is some kind of chemical that would loosen or dissolve the deposits in time and then rinse that out.
I would be surprised if there was not such a way without damaging the core.  
Is there any of you who would know it?
