I asked a similar question years ago and never got an answer really.
On my 86 syncro westy I run my 215/65-15 Michelin Agilis 51 tires at
maximum pressure (I think its 54 psi) all four corners. I haven't
experienced any abnormal tire wear and I find my handling good, and my
milage is better with the high pressure.
