Yeah, I was going to rag on him for that "chassis" comment too, but decided to let it slide.

Smog v. rust??? I'll take smog, thank you.

If your Vanagon fails smog, 90% of the time all it needs is a new cat (not the dead kind) for $100.

How many places fix rust holes for $100?

Cheers from rust-free Sacramento,

Jeff

I love the comment:

"rust free chassis, minimal seam surface rust that has been touched up and is bearly noticable"

Hmmm... rust free w/minimal surface rust...

that statement actually makes sense to us east coasters.

"chassis" - (while not really applicable to the Unibody vanagon) refers to the frame/floor/rockers/undercarriage

"seam surface rust" - every vanagon has that out here.

surface rust is no biggie here. Holes are. your van wont fail inspection here for surface rust, it will for holes tho. east coasters have a different attitude towards rust than west coasters do..

we may have to deal with road salt, but we dont have to get our vehicles smogged..or have to worry about them failing the smog test thus resulting in them being illegal to operate in CA... i dont know which is worse!
