Greetings from Vancouver Island!

I just joined the list and wanted to say hello. My recently purchased vehicle is a 1988 Vanagon GL, and I am delighted with it so far. I am curious about engine conversions, and have checked the FastForward web site (they are in Quesnel, BC, a long day's drive from here) and Tiico (they have a number of reps in the Vancouver, BC area), as well as a Subaru conversion site (smallcar.com). This is not something I want to do right away - unless my head gasket gives up the ghost - but would like to gather info and get a sense of the cost and logistics of getting it done. If anyone has any info they would like to share that would be greatly appreciated.

Obligatory newbie question: Are there any instructions out there on how to remove and replace the stock VW radio? I have a Pioneer CD/MP3 player I'd like to install and am wondering if I should attempt it myself to go to a car audio specialist.

Cheers,

-- Michael Young Cumberland, BC 88 GL
