If you did not hear the low speed fan come on you should also check/replace the

Ballast/resistor set for the fan it is behind the drivers side headlight. These fail very frequently.

I know this sounds like something from Doctor Suess (sp?), but that's what happened today.

I was driving slow in the city and the high speed stage fan came on. It was loud, never hear it before come on on its own, but right away I knew that I never heard the slow fan speed come on. ("no fan")

So there was the high speed fan running, ("big fan").

After about 1.5 seconds of high speed fan, there was a znat! that blew the 30 Amp #1 fuse. ("fuse blow")

Soon the blinking over-temp lights went on. ("no fan")

Soon!, like in 5 seconds, I was on a side street parked and shut down.

So I've heard the high speed fan running a few times because the previous owner put a switch in the dash to run the high speed fan manually. At this point, that doesn't work either.

I thought I would just replace the relay #5, the fan motor, and the temp switch in the radiator. Just shot gun the problem! But before I did that, I thought I would ask advice from the list.

So where do I start?
