Tabe, If you have the cash I would go with a rebuilt alternator. Your bearings in the alternator are just as used as the brushes. Spend some money and get a good one if can. It will pay off big later. gary Date: Tue, 20 Sep 2005 00:14:27 -0400 From: tabe johnson <xtabe@YAHOO.COM> Subject: Alternator light glows dimly at idle... Need new brushes?

Hey everyone,

Just noticed this evening in the dark that the alternator idiot light glows dimly at idle and gradually goes out as I rev the engine. The light is fully out by ~2500-3000 RPM.

I'm thinking it's time for new brushes. Anyone agree? Anyone disagree?
