Subject: quick question - running rough after 2 minutes
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII

I just had 3 things go wrong with my 87 syncro. First the low water warning light came on a couple of times but I checked and water was not low. Then a hose blew out and because of the earlier false alarm I did not stop until I saw drops of coolant on the rear window) lost about 2-3 quarts), the engine was definately hot but it seems OK now - time will tell if the headgaskets were affected. Now after temporarily repairing the leak (with electric tape, coke can and 2 clamps) until I can buy a new hose another problem has raised its head which I think is unrelated (?). The van runs great (this is when it is warm) for about a minute or so and then starts to miss and sometimes will not pick up at all (dies when the accelerator is depressed). Turning the engine off then on cures it completely for another couple of minutes. Am I correct in thinking that this is a classic O2 sensor failure (the computer being reset to default values when the ignition is cycled off and then on)? Many Thanks in advance, David
