Subject: Anybody successful when changing the fiberglass insulation on the
              dometic refrig burner vent?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

I have changes my insulation 3 times and cant get it right. The old insulation disintigrated when I removed it to check the lower flue area. Since, I replaced this with a special fiberglass insulation that has a fire rating and is normally put in between floors of a building as a fire block. Too many chemicals in this material. I got a headache from this, so I tore it out.Next, I got some yellow fiberglass insulation that came out of a dishwasher.Nice and neat, but way too many fumes.Headachs again, but not as bad.Maybe I am building a tolerance to this stuff. Today, I went a appliance junkpyle behind a appliance dealer and got some fiberglass insulation out of an old oven. Sounded good to me. This is designed ot take the heat from a gas burner.Well , I installed this for the third time, and still get a smell that wont work in a camper. Man am I getting good at dissembeling the burner and intake vent area of the dometic I dont install the frig to test it , but use a gas grill tank and regulater hooj up to do the testing. What is it that you have used so successfully?
