Subject: coolant gauge problem...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" ; format="flowed"

Just finished replacing the flywheel seal in my '90 Vanagon, standard, with A/C.

Afterward, the coolant temperature gauge just sits at the bottom of the scale. The red coolant warning light blinks when I first turn on the key.

Can someone tell me what voltages the "VW 1301" tester supplies to test the gauge?

If it helps with the puzzle, the speedo/odo light has stopped working (bulb appears to be okay) and the fuel gauge hasn't gone below the half-way point in several tanks.

The good news is that the quart-of-oil-per-tank-of-gas leak is now history. The bad news is I need this van to work reliably by tomorrow morning to flee from Rita.

I'm a digest member, so personal replies would be more timely. --
