My '86 threw it's PS belt and I didn't know it at all during a 250 mile
drive.  Even later, I didn't notice until I missed the groaning sound of
the pump.  So the steering input will probably not be an issue for you.

Please note - During the past 17 years of operation, several gigabytes of Vanagon mail messages have been archived. Searching the entire collection will take up to five minutes to complete. Please be patient!
