So, logically speaking, if the van was on a hoist with the front
differential locked, the drive shaft would then spin 4.86 times per wheel
revolution?

If one wheel is locked, the action of the differential will double the speed
of the free wheel. This is why it can be dangerous to spin tires at speed
such as when stuck in snow. With one wheel spinning, if the speedo says 50,
the one tire is actually spinning at 100. Keep this in mind when spinning
tires with a vehicle lifted. Any way, with only one axle turning, 2.4 turns
=4.8 ratio. You got the 4.86 gears.
